VOA says the number of the foreign students in the USA increased 3 percent last year,and it's the largest increase since 2001.But the most surprising thing for me is that the India sent the most students to the USA for the sixth year and it was up 10 percent from the year before.China was still in the second place.
Xiangbing,a professor of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business,a famous business school in China,once said that managers in China should learn from India's for their foresight and thinking globally.It shocked me greatly.I knew Mittal and his steel company,the best steel company in the world,a real international company too.
But we always think we made more progress than India generally and we are in advance of it.When I learned about the number of the international students in the USA from India,I am sure that what we thought about it before isn't the fact.
The population of China is about 1.3 times larger than India,but the number of students sent to the USA from China is smaller than India's.So,the distance is very obvious.It's no doubt that there are the best professors and education system in the USA.Especially,a lot of excellent students come from different countries and regions,it will be helpful for them to learn different culture and share good ideas one another.I think it's the best way to learn how to think globally and how to become more competitive in the global competition.
Vietnam is the other country which surprised me for it's mentioned by the news of VOA too.I don't know too much about it,but when I listen VOA,I notice there are a lot of questions from the listeners in Vietnam are quoted by the VOA.
