1. History
As far as we know, our civilization and history can trace back to the period of Huang Di or Yellow Emperor. After the 5000 years' transformation of many Dynasties, People's Republic of China that can be abbreviated to China is founded on Oct 1st 1949.

2. Location and Climate
China is located in the eastern of the Asia continent, on the western of the Pacific Ocean, with an area of about 9.6 million square kilometers. General speaking, most of areas in China has a continental monsoon climate. It is characterized by a warm climate and distinctive seasons. In summer it is often with high temperatures and plentiful rainfall, and in winter it is always cold and dry. In a word, it’s very comfortable for people to live in China.

3. Ethnic and Population
China is a multi-ethnic country with about 56 ethnic groups. Except for the Han ethnic group, the rest are minorities such as Hui, Uygur, Mongolian, Tibetan and so on. The latest census shows that China's total population amounts to 1,295.33 million, and the population of the minorities reaches 106.43 million, accounting for 8.41 percent.

5. Languages
The majority of the Chinese would say the Standard Chinese (Putonghua, based on the Beijing dialect) in the formal occasions. But in our daily life we often say the local dialect. And the minorities often has themselves language.

 6. Administrative Divisions
China is divided into 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities directly under the Central Government (Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai and Chongqing) and 2 special administrative regions at present(Hong Kong and Macau).
