The state's hopes of building a passenger rail line from Concord to Boston are not dead yet.
ArgentinaDemocratic U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes, Transportation Commissioner George Campbell, Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and Peter Burling of the New Hampshire Rail Transportation Authority met with U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood recently to talk about the rail project.
The state applied for a federal planning grant and was rejected, but meeting participants still hope they will watches-k get some money. "The commitment from Secretary LaHood and Congressman Hodes to see this application through will make high-speed rail and passenger service a reality for New Hampshire Citizens," Burling said.
